Installing Language-Dependent Components

InstallShield 2009

To install language-dependent components, you must have the Premier edition of InstallShield. In addition, you must include the language in your installation and build it into your release. If you do not, the language-dependent components will be included in the release but will not be installed on the target system when an end user runs your installation. In InstallScript installations, you can modify this default behavior by modifying the default code for the OnFilterComponents event handler function.

Task

Task

To include support for installing language-dependent components:

  1. Verify that you have the Premier edition of InstallShield installed on your system.
  2. Include the language in your installation by selecting it in the Setup Languages property in the Project Properties view.
  3. Include the language in your release.
Note

Note

Components are installed based on the end user’s selection of the installation language in the Language dialog (enabled in the Setup Languages panel of the Release Wizard), rather than on the locale of the system on which the installation is run.
